Hurstwood Farm to Manufacture The World's First Carbon Fibre Grand Piano

Hurstwood Farm are pleased to announce that from mid-2016 we will be releasing the world’s first commercially available carbon fibre grand piano, the Phoenix Carbiano.

Using the same scaling as the Steingraeber and Phoenix A170, the 5”8 grand piano has a carbon fibre and composite frame, action, soundboard and casework. It is resistant to changes in humidity and has exceptional tuning stability. It weighs 125kg, approximately one third of a conventional grand piano. The prototype Carbiano was demonstrated at the Cremona Music Fair in September 2012 alongside other Phoenix models.
